The event is intended for young people ages 12 and up and will take place at the YWCA (141 W. Third St.) on Saturday, January 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The celebration is an opportunity to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King and to inspire youth to take action and create positive change in their communities. Presenters will explore contemporary issues such as race, social justice and diversity as they affects youth and young adults. The event will also celebrate Dayton’s cultural diversity by featuring world music, dance, spoken word and food. Youth will have the opportunity to create their own unique signs to be used during the MLK march and rally to be held the following Monday.
