Rental property owners invited to Preferred Property information event

The City of Dayton is encouraging rental property owners to participate in a program promoting responsible property ownership and stronger neighborhoods.

The Preferred Property Program is designed for owners of rental housing with up to four units. Program participants receive a free listing on the City of Dayton website and assistance with marketing apartments and rental homes. As participants, owners are asked to meet City of Dayton safety and maintenance requirements.

An information session will be held at noon on Thursday, July 18, at the Dayton Metro Library (215 E. Third St.). Representatives of the Dayton Police and Fire Departments, the Division of Housing Inspection, and others will be present. Commissioner Matt Joseph will welcome participants and present some best practices related to property ownership.

Interested property owners may register for the information session in advance at http://www.daytonohio.gov/landlordinfo. For more information on the Preferred Property Program, visit http://www.daytonohio.gov/PreferredProperty . The program is managed by the City of Dayton Human Relations Council.
