Erica Fields named Human Relations Council executive director

Mayor Nan Whaley with the City Commission has announced the appointment of Erica Fields as
executive director of the Human Relations Council (HRC), effective Monday, January 7, 2019.
Fields will oversee the programs and staff of the office, which has an annual budget of $1.83
million. S he has served as the interim executive director of HRC since
March 2018.
Fields has served as Community Relations Administrator for HRC since 2016, overseeing
communications and community engagement in support of the agency’s core programs and initiatives. S
he has also worked in program management and community outreach capacities for the Montgomery
County Office of Family and Children First, the Ohio Department of Development, and the Office of
the Lieutenant Governor (Ohio). S he holds a Master of Public Administration and a B.S . in
Marketing and Management, both from Wright S tate University.
“Erica has done a remarkable job as the Interim Director, and this permanent appointment is well
deserved,” said Commissioner Chris S haw. “I am excited to see Erica continue to evolve in this
role.”
“The HRC is an important part of the community-building work of the City,” said Commissioner Darryl
Fairchild. “Erica’s experience and work ethic will be vital to the implementation of City
Commission priorities.”
