Dayton has been selected to host the third annual convening of the WE Global Network (formerly Global Great Lakes) on July 8-10, 2015, bringing together representatives of cities and organizations from across the Midwest working on immigrant-related economic development initiatives.
Hosted by the City of Dayton Human Relations Council and the WE Global Network, the 2015 Conference will focus on attracting and retaining immigrants to the region to enhance opportunities for overall economic growth and community development. The five areas of focus include:
- Business and Economic Development
- Education
- Government and Justice
- Health and Social Services
- Community, Culture and Arts
WE Global Network’s mission is to engage in activities that strengthen the work, maximize the impact, and sustain the efforts of individual and local initiatives across the region that welcome, retain, and empower immigrant communities as valued contributors to local community and economic development initiatives.
