Dayton World Soccer Returns With the Largest Field Yet

The Dayton World Soccer Games return on Saturday, September 13, with a record 28 teams representing immigrant communities living in the Dayton region. The tournament, inspired by Welcome Dayton immigrant friendly city initiative, takes place at Action Sports Center (1103 Gateway Dr.).

Opening ceremonies featuring a parade of nations and a Dayton Police-Fire scrimmage game begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 12. Tournament games consisting of youth and adult teams begin the following morning at 8:00 a.m.

Nationalities and communities represented at the 2014 Dayton World Soccer Games include: Dayton African, Ethiopia, Sudan, Mexico, Germany, Turkey, Burundi, Russia, Africa United, Ecuador, Argentina, China, Ireland, Iceland, Cameroon, Ghana, England and the United States.

Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Bringing sports seating is suggested.
